Plano SEO Services

There are two Planos, and which one your customers live in changes almost everything about how you should approach search.

One is the Legacy corridor. Toyota moved its North American headquarters here. In February of this year the city council approved a twenty million dollar incentive package, the largest in Plano history, to land AT&T’s new global headquarters at a project valued around 1.35 billion dollars. Legacy West is full of people on expense accounts. The other Plano is east of Central, older, quieter, more affordable, with a downtown arts district around the DART station that has more character than anything on the west side.

A business serving both is really serving two markets. Most of the SEO work we do here starts by figuring out which one is actually paying the bills.

Selling to corporate Plano

If your customers are companies rather than households, Plano search works differently than local SEO usually does. Nobody signs a commercial cleaning contract or picks an IT provider from a map pack in ninety seconds. The buying cycle is long, several people are involved, and the first search happens months before anyone contacts you.

That changes the target. You are not chasing “near me” traffic. You are trying to be the result that comes up when a facilities manager or an office administrator starts researching, and then be the one they still remember six weeks later. Practically, that means content that answers the questions they actually have, a site that does not look like it was built in 2014, and enough credibility signals that a procurement person feels safe recommending you.

It also means competing against vendors who are not in Plano at all. National firms bid on these terms. Being local is a genuine advantage, and it is one most Plano businesses fail to make legible on their own website.

Selling to residential Plano

Different game entirely. Plano is a mature suburb, and that matters more than people expect. Unlike Frisco or Prosper, most households here have lived in the same house for years and already have a plumber, a dentist and a mechanic they call. You are not filling a vacuum. You are competing to be found at the specific moment their usual person does not answer the phone.

Which is why, for residential service businesses in Plano, we tend to push hard on three things: Google Business Profile completeness, review volume, and response speed. The searches that convert here are urgent ones, and urgent searchers pick from the map pack, not from page one of the blue links.

The commuter problem nobody accounts for

A large share of the people inside Plano’s city limits during business hours do not live in Plano. They commute in from Allen, Murphy, Wylie, Richardson and further. They search from their desks and buy near their office at lunch, then buy near their house at night.

For a restaurant, a med spa, a dry cleaner or a gym, that is a real strategic decision. You can chase the daytime crowd, the evening residents, or both, but the keywords and the profile hours and the content are different for each. We have seen businesses spend a year optimizing for the wrong one of these and conclude that SEO does not work.

What a Plano engagement usually looks like

  1. Audit and diagnosis. Where you rank, who outranks you, and whether the gap is technical, content, or reputation. Usually it is not what the owner assumed.
  2. Google Business Profile rebuild. Categories are wrong on a startling number of Plano listings. So are service areas. This is the cheapest win available and most businesses have never touched it.
  3. Site fundamentals. Speed, mobile, structure, schema, internal linking. Nothing glamorous. It is the part that makes everything after it work.
  4. Content aimed at your actual buyer. Not blog posts for the sake of blog posts. Pages built around the specific things people search before they hire someone like you.
  5. Measurement you can read. Rankings are a proxy. Calls, forms and direction requests are the point. We report on the second set.

Why the corporate boom cuts both ways

Every announcement about a new headquarters brings more customers to Plano. It also brings more competitors, higher commercial rents and more sophisticated marketing budgets on the other side of the table. The window where a small business can outrank a well funded one by simply doing the basics correctly is not permanent, and in this city it is narrower than in most of the suburbs north of here.

That is not a scare tactic. It is a reason to fix your Google Business Profile this month rather than next year.

Local, and available in person

We are based in Frisco, fifteen minutes up the tollway, and we meet Plano clients in person. That matters more for B2B work than it does anywhere else. When the buying decision involves several people at your company, sitting in a room with all of them once is worth ten emails.

You can see how we work and what we charge. We also serve Frisco, Carrollton and Allen.
